 Incorporated in 1921, this square mile
city is on U.S. Highway 17 between Winter Haven and Bartow. ,At
one time, citrus was the major industry, with a packing house
and a canning plant here. Eagle Lake is primarily a residential
community, seeking expanded business and growth opportunities.
Among the major annual events in this community are Fallfest,
Mistletoe Marketplace and Christmas in the Park.
Lake Region High School opened at the city's north end in August
1995, with 1,350 student. Eagle Lake Elementary School is also
in town. Most middle-school age students attend Westwood Middle
School.
